Job description

Mary's Woods is looking for an experienced CDL Driver with exceptional communication and customer service skills to support our Transportation team. As a Driver, you will need to have solid working knowledge of the Portland Metro Area and enjoy interacting with seniors. You will be transporting residents in our various vehicles ranging from a car to a bus for regularly scheduled trips, medical appointments and events. You will need to be comfortable with assisting residents with boarding, seating, loading, unloading packages, and wheelchair accessibility protocols.

Mary's Woods is a non-profit senior living community founded in 2001. We offer independent living, assisted living, memory care and residential care in a park-like setting on 40 acres in Lake Oswego. We pride ourselves on our rich heritage, spirit of caring and welcoming culture. We are seeking passionate team members to join us in fulfilling our mission and values.

Below are some of the core responsibilities, experience, and skills needed to be successful:

  • Must have a solid working knowledge of Clackamas, Multnomah and Washington county roads/addresses
  • Demonstrate basic understanding of auto mechanics, key fob entries and computer programmed key fob operation
  • Transport residents on shopping/medical trips, group events, cultural events and other appointments as needed
  • Monitor minor vehicle maintenance, gas usage, mileage log, oil changes and cleaning vehicles inside and out
  • Must attend and participate in orientation, training, educational activities and in-services as required
  • Understand, comply with, and promote all rules regarding resident rights
  • Promote positive relationships with residents, visitors, and regulators
  • Demonstrate the ability to remain calm in emergency situations

Education and Experience Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must possess a valid, current CDL with bus endorsement
  • Must possess an Oregon Driver’s License and a safe driving record for a minimum of the previous three years
  • Knowledge/Certification in First Aid and CPR
