Position Summary
The floor manager is responsible for overseeing daily front-of-house operations during assigned shifts, including but not limited to ensuring consistent service standards, guest satisfaction, beverage program execution, and staff performance, while maintaining compliance with company policies and applicable laws. The Floor Manager reports to the General Manager or Assistant General Manager and serves as a visible leader on the floor.
Professional Standards & Dress Code
The Floor Manager must comply with all applicable sanitation, health, alcohol service, and personal hygiene standards. Managers are expected to adhere to and enforce all grooming, appearance, and health code standards, including fragrance-free and no-gum policies. This role is responsible for the appropriate use of restaurant supplies and equipment to minimize loss, waste, and inefficiency.
Professional Appearance:
• Business casual or professional attire
• Nice dark jeans permitted for all genders, provided they are not faded, distressed, or ripped
• Dress slacks acceptable
• Clean, polished, closed-toe, non-skid shoes with heel closure required
• No flip-flops or open-back shoes
• No strapless tops, spaghetti straps, short skirts, or bare midriffs
• Clothing must be clean, neat, and appropriate to a professional restaurant environment
Core Responsibilities
Operations & Guest Service
• Supervise daily floor operations to ensure service quality, cleanliness, and efficiency
• Maintain compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol service regulations
• Act as the primary on-floor leader during shifts
• Address guest concerns professionally and in accordance with company standards
• Support food and beverage service execution
• Identify operational issues and escalate as appropriate
Beverage Program Oversight
• Execute and maintain beverage program standards
• Manage beverage ordering, inventory, and cost controls
• Ensure menu accuracy, pricing compliance, and recipe execution
• Train and oversee bartenders and bar staff
• Maintain vendor relationships and product knowledge
Financial & Administrative Support
• Ensure accurate cash handling and shift reporting
• Monitor labor and controllable costs during shifts
• Assist with inventory counts, ordering, and invoice processing
• Support budgeting and forecasting efforts as assigned
Staffing & Leadership
• Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and performance development
• Lead and coach team members during service
• Assist with scheduling and coverage needs
• Enforce company policies, workplace standards, and labor laws
• Support disciplinary actions as directed by senior management
Qualifications
• Minimum 5 years of full-service restaurant experience
• Supervisory or management experience preferred
• Beverage program leadership experience required
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Food Safety certification required within 30 days of hire
• Proficiency with POS systems, OpenTable, and Microsoft Office
Physical & Scheduling Requirements
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks
• Flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays
