Job description

Burrow Global has an immediate need for a Sr. I&E Designer for an Oil and Gas company located in downtown Houston.
These positions will be focused on brownfield capital projects that are associated with the clients oil and gas and petrochemical facilities in the USA.
Daily duties include:
  1. Preparation of process flow diagrams (PFD), piping & instrument diagrams (P&ID), general equipment layouts, facility plot plans, and equipment and instrument lists for various company plant, pipeline and related facilities construction projects.
  2. Assist in the development of Project Scopes, Engineering / Design Scopes, and Construction Scopes of Work, for use in the establishment of contracts with third parties.
  3. Attend project meetings to obtain full understanding of customer needs and scope definitions, and to provide technical input toward efficient and effective designs.
  4. Assist in the review of man hour estimates and work schedules to assure efficiency in the execution of projects.
  5. Assist in coordinating the distribution of design packages related to projects to ensure that all stakeholders are allowed input, and that all necessary information is exchanged.
  6. Provide design and drafting services for time / budget critical projects.
  7. Provide design and drafting services associated with the preliminary development of potential projects.
  8. Communicate with vendors for materials quotes and availability of materials.
  9. Create parts lists by performing material take-offs to ensure the timely availability of items.
  10. Development of material data sheets.
  11. Generate material requisitions for submittal to project manager for approvals.
  12. Maintain record of documents and correspondence pertaining to technical design issues throughout the development of projects.
  13. Participate in the development and maintenance of Company standard drawings.
  14. Maintain a high level of expertise in necessary areas of design and drafting and ensure access to specialty resources and technology
  15. Assist in the development and implementation of specifications and procedures related to the handling of department business to facilitate lower costs in the creation and maintenance of drawings and documentation.
  16. Coordinate with Project Managers, purchasing agents, inspectors, engineering contractors, and construction contractors relating to design drawing content, materials and construction issues.
  17. Coordinate with Project Managers and Engineering on design and project logistical issues to assure effective, linear progress of the project.
  18. Provide the drafting associated with daily operation of the system along with coordinating with CADD Operator.
  19. Provide guidance so to enhance the ability of others to obtain required information through the use of departmentally developed tools and methods.
  20. Must be willing and able to travel by air and/or automobile to facility sites as required.

Candidates should have an associate degree or bachelor's degree in drafting or engineering and have at least 7-10 years of electrical and instrumentation design experience.
Experience with Autocad and CadWorx is required.
Experience with ICS Triplex, Honeywell, Triconex, and Allen Bradley PLC is preferred.
