Trend Specialist - Design

The Trend Specialist will report to the Sr. Director Trend & Partnerships and research and report on key fashion trends and assist in driving trend into assortments and interpret fashion trends into JCPenney lifestyle needs.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Research seasonal trend including: color, fabric, print and pattern, silhouette, and key looks.
• Creates and curates presentation decks and visual content for seasonal trend presentations, translating market insights and trend research into clear, engaging narratives.
• Stays current on fashion trends through competitive shopping, fashion services, industry contracts, blogs, street style, etc.
• Researches and identifies emerging trends, synthesizes insights, and presents trend analysis and opportunities to the manager to inform seasonal strategies and business decisions.
• Travels domestically and internationally to identify emerging trends and sources of inspiration, translating insights into timely and actionable presentations for the team.
Core Competencies & Accomplishments:
• 4-year College degree or equivalent business experience preferred.
• Prior experience in Trend Forecasting or design preferred. Ability to flex knowledge across various disciplines: Women's, Men's, Youth, Home, Accessories, Beauty landscape
• One to three years' experience in trend and/or design or fashion merchandising, preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Keynote, and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Versed in Social media platforms and able to use AI programs to support creative & workflow (e.g. ChatGPT, Claude etc.).
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Collaborative nature with the ability to work cross-functionally.
• Ability to multi-task with effective time-management skills
