Main purpose of the Trend & Buying Assistant role:

We’re seeking a highly organized and analytical individual to support both trend strategy and buying operations. This role focuses on identifying and communicating trends, managing reporting and data, and supporting cross-functional teams to inform product and merchandising decisions. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, balances data-driven insights with creativity, and demonstrates strong organization, critical thinking, and accountability.


Major Responsibilities:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


Trend Strategy & Analysis

  • Develop and manage trend tracking processes
  • Lead creation of seasonal trend materials following fashion weeks, including presentations, reports, and recaps
  • Monitor and analyze trends across runway, market, competitors, and internal data to identify opportunities and risks
  • Support ad hoc reporting requests to provide visibility into trends in development and on order
  • Maintain organized and accessible trend resources for cross-functional teams
  • Assist in identifying white space opportunities and contribute to strategic recommendations based on insights

Buying & Merchandising Support

  • Support Buyer in key functions and meetings, including sketch reviews and buy meetings
  • Assist with creation of merchandising decks, sales reporting, and seasonal recaps
  • Run and maintain reports, including reorder management, product templates, and data tracking
  • Support purchase order processing and data management for a portion of the business
  • Assist with troubleshooting, analysis, and preparation for key department initiatives

Cross-Functional & Operational Support

  • Maintain clear and timely communication across teams, including email correspondence and follow-ups
  • Build strong relationships with cross-functional partners including buyers, sales analysts, and designers
  • Assist with day-to-day administrative tasks and ensure smooth execution of team workflows
  • Manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 1–3 years of experience in fashion, merchandising, buying, or a related role
  • Degree in Fashion, Merchandising, or a similar field
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
  • High level of organization and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets, PowerPoint/Keynote, and Gmail
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills, especially in visual formats
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and problem-solve under tight deadlines
  • Strong work ethic, sense of urgency, and accountability from start to finish
  • Passion for fashion, trends, and the retail landscape

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with trend forecasting tools or platforms
  • Familiarity with fashion week cycles, runway analysis, and market research
