Job description

Job Title

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise and assist in semi-complex manual labor tasks related to tree trimming.
  • Assures tree trimming orders are executed properly.
  • Supervises a team of tree trimmers.
  • Oversees the handling of rope, directs traffic, and supervises the removal of limbs and brush.
  • Removes low limbs, which do not require climbing.
  • Supervises and assists in pruning, topping, tree removal, land clearing, bracing, feeding and transplanting.
  • Operates saws and spraying equipment.
  • Train and mentor new team members.
  • Perform other routine manual labor.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and two years of experience is required.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of tree trimming.
  • Knowledge of safety precautions associated with tree trimming.
  • Skilled in the use of multiple pieces of equipment including power saws, hand saws, and power sprayers.
  • Ability to climb trees and work in high places.
  • First Aid Certification is required.
  • Experience with digger derricks, bucket trucks, trenchers, and groundwork with utility crews is required.
  • Must be able to pass drug, alcohol, and background checks.
  • Able and willing to travel long distances on short notice.
  • Able and willing to work for extended periods in various locations.
  • Able and willing to work in all types of weather environments including inclement weather.
  • Able and willing to work overtime when required.
  • Understanding of the utility industry and operations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
