Tree climbers may need a high school diploma or GED certificate, depending on the requirements of the employer. You should have excellent tree climbing skills and completely lack an aversion to heights. Training, or even an interest, in horticulture, landscape design, or arboriculture can set you apart from other candidates. Some employers may require you have your own tree maintenance equipment. It is imperative you know how to use and maintain the tools you use to trim, inspect, and maintain trees. If your duties include the application of pesticides, some states require you first obtain a special license.

Patriot Tree Service LLC is seeking a reliable onsite team member to support its growing landscape and tree care operations in Huntsville, AL.
Position SummaryThis full-time Land role is responsible for assisting with seasonal landscaping activities in the summer and tree-related work in the winter as our operations expand. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, and comfortable working outdoors in changing weather conditions.
You will help deliver consistent, high-quality service while maintaining a strong culture of safety and professionalism—especially while supporting work primarily aboard Redstone Arsenal.
Key ResponsibilitiesPerform landscape maintenance tasks during peak mowing season and support tree service activities during the winter season
Operate landscaping equipment and various power tools safely and effectively to complete assigned tasks
Assist with jobsite setup, cleanup, and basic site preparation to ensure work is completed efficiently
Follow established safety procedures and actively contribute to maintaining an injury-free workplace
Communicate with team members to stay on schedule and meet job requirements, including physical demands such as lifting
Commitment to safety with a strong understanding of safe work practices on job sites
Ability to pass the required NCIS background check for access to Redstone Arsenal
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to support onsite work
Ability to work outdoors in changing climates and varying seasonal conditions
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks as needed
Experience working in landscaping, tree service, or related outdoor field operations
Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and follow procedures while building skills over time
Comfort using equipment and power tools with minimal supervision
A strong attendance record and willingness to take ownership of assigned responsibilities
Experience supporting operations aboard federal or controlled-access facilities (preferred, not required)
Hourly rate: $15.00 - $25.00
