Job Summary
The Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food and Environment is seeking a highly organized, skilled, versatile, and adaptable Research Farm Technician II to join the Research Farms division. The Research Farms provide a dynamic environment for teaching, research, and extension opportunities, serving faculty, staff, and students across the college. This Research Farm Technician II role is a vital part of the team, supporting essential farm operations from maintaining and repairing farm equipment to assisting in various farm operations for support of crop production, and assisting with research projects and facilities as necessary. This position is located at the C. Oran Little Research Center (LRC) in Versailles.
Responsibilities include general farm and facilities maintenance, such as:
  • mowing
  • hand trimming
  • landscape maintenance
  • planting trees
  • tree/tree limb removal/cleanup, including felling trees
  • road repairs
  • fence construction/repair, including painting
  • building repairs/maintenance/painting
  • calibrate pesticide application equipment
  • mix and apply pesticides
  • assist with construction projects
  • maintain and improve aesthetics of the facilities
  • other duties as assigned
