WBG Treasuryis the Vice Presidency (VPU), reporting to the Managing Director and World BankGroup Chief Financial Officer, performing treasury functions for the IBRD, IDAand IFC and, to varying degrees, other members of the World Bank Group andother public and private sector entities. Its activities are organized andgrouped into the following divisions: Capital Markets; Asset Management; ClientSolutions & Structuring; Treasury Operations; Treasury Partnerships &Advisory; and Treasury Risk, Compliance & Controls. Treasury has been alarge and significant participant in the international financial markets forover eighty years and has achieved a global reputation as a prudent andinnovative borrower, investor, and risk manager. Treasury is responsible for:(i) managing approximately 300 billion in assets for the World Bank Group andother official sector investors; (ii) leading IBRD's, IDA's and IFC's triple-Arated financing programs in international and domestic bond and derivativemarkets; (iii) conducting asset and liability management for IBRD's, IDA's andIFC's balance sheets; (iv) overseeing the development and outreach related tothe financing and hedging products the WBG provides for its developing-countryclients; and (v) collaborating with the World Bank member countries to helpbuild their financial markets related capacity through advisory services. Staffin Treasury regularly interact and work with other Departments across the Bankand IFC finance, operations, investment teams.
TreasurySummer Interns will work full-time for ten weeks, from June 1st  through August 9th , 2027, inWashington, DC. The program begins with a customized onboarding week, afterwhich interns rotate through three different Treasury teams in three-weekintervals. Throughout the summer, interns engage in weekly discussions with theprogram's director and attend technical and career-focused sessions withTreasury officers, managers, and directors. They also have access to the nearly300-member Treasury team, including an opportunity to meet the Vice President& Treasurer. Each rotation concludes with a presentation to the respectiveteam, and the internship culminates in a capstone project presented to theTreasury management team.
Dutiesand Responsibilities

The program will hire up to 17interns across Treasury's 17 teams for 2027 summer, and each intern will have adifferent rotation schedule to create a diverse and unique experience. Treasurycomprises five main departments: Asset Management, Capital Markets, Partnershipsand Advisory, Treasury Clients Solutions and Structuring, Treasury Operations,and Pension & Endowments, in addition to the Treasury Risk, Compliance, andControls team. Throughout their internship, each participant will be pairedwith a mentor and coordinator for each rotation, to provide guidance and support.Interns will engage in specific projects or tasks as directed by their team atthe outset of each rotation.
