Job description


The financial analyst completes ongoing support of company-wide capital market issuances and other Treasury-related activities. This position will complete reports on forecasted financial information; perform analysis on key drivers of actual and forecasted financial performance; assist in completion of the cash flow budget and forecast; assist in preparation of utility peer and capital markets related reports for senior management; and perform other ad-hoc financial and business analysis in support of company strategic initiatives.
Responsibilities
Support debt capital market activities for BHE and its subsidiaries, including public and private bond offerings, term loan financings and maintaining the revolving credit facilities.
Analyze utility industry, regulatory, capital investment, and credit-related matters in support of Treasury and strategic decision-making activities.
Conduct the analysis and evaluation of potential investments, acquisitions, divestitures and other strategic initiatives in accordance with organizational objectives.
Coordinate and communicate inputs and results of the financial forecast and plan, including the development and preparation of concise and meaningful reports for different audiences.
Compile, analyze, research and interpret data to prepare reports, forecast future trends and stay abreast of economic changes and applicable industry topics.
Perform corporate, subsidiary and project cash flow and variance analysis.
Support rating agency activity including researching, interpreting and analyzing current agency business practices, methodology changes and cash flow ratios across the various platforms.
Develop concise executive level presentations and financial analyses for senior management, investors, and external stakeholders.
Reconcile actual results versus budgets and forecasts and communicate key drivers of variances.
Perform additional responsibilities as requested or assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
Certification or advanced degree such as CPA, MBA or CFA beneficial.
Zero to two or more years related work experience in public accounting, financial forecasting, financial modeling and/or financial analysis.
Strong accounting and analytical skills; knowledge of financial analysis methods and tools.
Advanced software skills in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Analytical skills to effectively monitor developments in forecasted and actual data and the ability to draw logical conclusions from analysis.
Ability to effectively leverage AI-enabled tools to enhance productivity, analysis, decision making and communication.
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
