Position Overview

As a Traveling General Superintendent at Constructable, you will lead and mentor Field Superintendents, overseeing remote industrial construction projects in small cities across the United States.

This pivotal role ensures seamless coordination between field and office operations, driving safety, quality, and efficiency across multiple job sites. You will embody Constructable’s core values—Team Player, Wants the Ball, Keep It Real, Grow or Die, and Hard Work—while delivering on our brand promise of Faster Time to Operations and upholding excellence in every project.

Key Responsibilities

Field Leadership & Operations

·        Lead and oversee field operations across multiple industrial construction projects, ensuring alignment with project schedules, budgets, and Constructable’s quality standards.

·        Provide leadership, direction, and foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing field team.

·        Conduct performance reviews and proactively address employee relations matters in coordination with HR and leadership.

·        Ensure all field employees complete required training; provide support and clarification on training content as needed.

·        Serve as the primary point of contact for all field-related challenges, working closely with Project Managers and site teams to drive timely resolutions.

Safety & Quality Management

  • Enforce Constructable’s safety standards and protocols, collaborating with the Director of Safety and Quality to meet compliance and performance KPIs.
  • Conduct regular safety and quality audits to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Lead by example, promoting a culture of safety and accountability on all job sites.

Schedule & Resource Coordination

  • Develop and maintain overall project schedules, ensuring timely delivery of key milestones.
  • Coordinate the allocation of manpower, equipment, and materials across project sites to optimize productivity and minimize downtime.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Serve as the primary liaison between field and office staff, ensuring alignment on project objectives and strategies.
  • Facilitate weekly operations meetings to review project progress, address challenges, and plan resource allocation.
  • Promote Constructable’s mission of collaboration, bridging the gap between field and office teams.

 

 

 

Continuous Improvement

  • Implement best practices in construction methods, processes, and technologies to enhance efficiency and performance.
  • Drive the adoption of innovative tools and workflows to support Constructable’s competitive differentiators of speed-to-build, managing complexity, and building in remote locations.

Qualifications

·        High school diploma or GED required

  • Minimum of 10 years in industrial construction, with 5+ years in a leadership role managing multiple projects simultaneously.

·        Must be willing to travel and work in remote locations.

  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and manage teams in high-pressure environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA standards and construction safety best practices.
  • Proficiency in construction software (ProjectSight, MS Project, etc.) and familiarity with design-build project delivery.
  • Strong decision-making and conflict-resolution skills, with a proactive approach to mitigating risks and addressing challenges.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams.
