As a traveling welder, your responsibilities are to repair pipes in a variety of locations. Traveling welders often work in industrial or military environments to fuse metal, build new pipes, and provide other services. Many traveling welders specialize in a particular area, such as going underwater, traveling with race car teams, or even repairing satellites. Given the extreme environments where welding may be necessary, many traveling welders have many years of experience and training with a wide variety of travel and survival gear. You may drive, fly, climb, or swim to reach your destinations. Traveling welders may be asked to work nights, weekends, or holidays as needed.
