Job description

Busy Nephrology practice has an opening for a BACK OFFICE Medical Assistant. Our ideal candidate will have completed an accredited Medical Assisting program, have experience in an acute care setting, and is familiar with basic medical terminology. Being a growing office, attendance and flexibility is very important. Our position requires multitasking, attention to detail, excellent computer skills, being a team player, and being a fast learner. Must have good phone etiquette.
We have multiple positions available, depending on the position travel maybe required. Our office locations include Gainesville, Habersham, Braselton, Dawsonville, Cumming, and Johns Creek. Locations are dependent on the position as not all positions go to all locations, but we do have a few that do. Some position may also require travel to dialysis centers as needed, as well.
We reimburse mileage at the highest allowable rate from the IRS.
The job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
-Obtaining Vitals and patient rooming
- Medication Review and Refill Requests
- Appointment & Test Scheduling
- Answering Clinical line calls and documenting appropriately
- Responding to Patient Messages via our EMR system (Acumen EPIC)
-Patient Scheduling
-Some transcription while at dialysis units
Requirements:
- Graduate of accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Demonstrates interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Demonstrates communication skills.
- Demonstrates literacy in using computers and keyboarding.
- Skills in problem-solving, setting priorities, and using good judgment for decisions.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently under pressure.
- Current National Medical Assistant Certification (CMA or RMA)
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least one year of back-office experience in a medical assistant position.
- Clinical knowledge and/or training in Nephrology a plus
- Familiarity in documenting in an electronic medical record system. Use of EPIC a Plus.
