Schedule:

  • Four 10-hour shifts
  • Full-time, 40-hours per week

Provides excellent patient care and medical services as related to venous insufficiency under the supervision of a physician.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Contributes to physician's effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range patient care issues that must be addressed; providing information and commentary pertinent to deliberations; recommending options and courses of action; implementing physician directives
  • Assesses patient health by interviewing patients; performing physical examinations; obtaining, updating, and studying medical histories
  • Determines abnormal conditions by administering or ordering diagnostic tests; identify abnormal results and bring these to the attention of the attending physician
  • Works closely with Nursing, Surgical and Vascular Lab Staff
  • Provides continuity of care by developing and implementing patient management plans under the direction of the attending physician.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Formulates a multimodality treatment strategy for the patients' venous insufficiency under the direction of the attending physician.
  • Assists in medical procedures as requested by the attending physician
  • Educates patients on treatment options, recommendations of the attending physician and assists patient in scheduling treatments
  • Participates in telephone communication with patients as needed
  • Creates a letter of medical necessity when required by patient insurance company
  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
  • Be involved with all continuity of care initiatives, including one month, six month and then annual follow ups
  • Maintain accurate and detailed reports and records; complete all work within established time requirements
  • Train new clinical staff as needed
  • Work together with the team members at the center(s) to reach center goals
  • Assist in community events CVR sponsors as needed
  • Attend periodic team meetings
  • Process medical instruments and medical waste per CVR standards
  • Adhere to all infection control, universal precautions and safety policies
  • Utilize appropriate customer service skills during interactions with patients, physicians visitors, staff, and other personnel
  • Other duties as assigned by management, or clinical director

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be licensed Nurse Practitioner
  • Minimum of 2 years of previous NP experience required
  • Must be able to travel to the Rehoboth Beach and Salisbury offices.
