Job Summary

Seeking a highly motivated, self-starting individual with strong communication skills for this inventory specialist role. You will collaborate with our internal warehouse team and Corporate Cost Accounting on cycle counts, our QA department to ensure all QA Hold items are in the right area in the warehouse and location in SAP, and the pack out/production teams to monitor and count inventory items that have been issued to production but not consumed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Primary responsibility will be to support the cycle counting process and report results back to our Cost Accounting team helping to avoid a year end physical count.
  • Assist with promoting and developing positive team communication between the warehouse, production and pack out teams to improve inventory accuracy and reduce the number of items that need to be reviewed monthly for reserve.
  • Work with Quality to develop a robust process for the communication of QA Hold items improving accuracy in support of internal, customer and 3 party audits.
  • Assist in the resolution of MRP and inventory / planning discrepancies.
  • Provides a "Customer Service" attitude when interacting with internal and external customers while accomplishing work, production, and achieving quality standards.
  • Maintains a clean, orderly, and safe workstation and environment at all times.
  • Performs other duties as assigned based on business needs.
  • Analyze production requirements to purchase raw materials in accordance to vendor arranged lead times and MOQs Complete monthly inventory counts
  • Collaborate with vendors on continuous improvement initiatives (pricing, packaging, volumes, lead times, etc)
  • Manage open orders to ensure on time deliveries
  • Maintain material specific master data such as safety stock
  • Analyze usage trends to establish optimal inventory levels and safety stocks
  • Collaborate with Global Supply Chain and other West Facilities on the management of network controlled materials
  • Investigate and implement corrective actions when material outages occur
  • Collaborate with Site Planners to ensure production schedule changes are supported
  • Support site inventory initiatives and audits when applicable
  • Support production variance analysis to determine root causes of any misses
  • Supports plant operations outside traditional work hours while the site is running production
  • Comply with the company's safety and quality policy at all times
  • Comply with the SOPs, as per Company policy, as relevant to the position covered by this Job Description

Education

Work Experience

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Previous manufacturing work experience
  • Experience with SAP, MES programs, Database programs
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Detail oriented with exceptional time management and multi-tasking ability
  • Ability to create Standard Operating Procedures
License and Certifications
  • Manufacturing\Forklift Certification within 30 Days required
Travel Requirements
5%: Up to 13 business days per year
Physical Requirements
Sedentary-Exerting up to 10lbs/4kgs of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
