What You’ll Do

As a Hardware Associate, you will act as our store’s primary representative, delivering exceptional customer service and assisting customers with their purchasing decisions. You will keep the sales floor stocked and organized, handle cash transactions, and maintain a clean and safe shopping environment.

Customer Service & Sales Support

  • Direct customers to products and answer questions about store goods.
  • Assist customers in making purchase decisions to ensure project success.
  • Act as our store’s representative and deliver a superior level of care.
  • Handle cash transactions and complete retail sales professionally.
  • Use Windows-based software to assist with transactions and daily operations.

Store Operations & Merchandising

  • Stock store items and ensure product displays are neat and organized.
  • Perform cleaning and daily upkeep of the store to maintain a welcoming environment.
  • Execute occasional local travel with a company vehicle as needed.

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow and enforce all safety rules and policies outlined by Bliffert Lumber management.
  • Report any workplace injuries immediately to the Hardware Manager.
  • Protect company values by keeping all financial information and plans strictly confidential.
  • Perform additional job responsibilities as assigned by the Manager to support store operations.

Qualifications

  • Interpersonal: Passionate about creating a positive and memorable experience for customers, colleagues, and community in every interaction.
  • Physical Ability: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Schedule: Flexibility and availability to work some weekends.
  • Licensing: Valid driver’s license with the ability to perform occasional local travel.
  • Reporting: Reports directly to the Hardware Manager.
