Position: Healthcare Administrative Specialist
Type: Contract
Compensation: $40–$50/hour
Location: Remote

Role Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and streamline patient access workflows, including registration, scheduling, and insurance verification.
  • Design efficient processes for prior authorizations and utilization support through payer portals.
  • Review and manage claims and revenue cycle operations to ensure timely submission and resolution.
  • Develop strategies for remittance and payment posting, ensuring accurate reconciliation against clinical charges.
  • Collaborate with providers and payers to enhance credentialing and enrollment processes.
  • Work independently and asynchronously to optimize health information management and practice administration.

Qualifications

Must-Have

  • 3+ years of daily, hands-on experience in a healthcare administrative/back-office role.
  • Direct experience with payer portals (e.g., Availity, Optum/Change Healthcare, Waystar).
  • Currently working in a healthcare administrative role.
  • Based in the United States.

Preferred

  • Experience as a Practice Administrator, Medical Office Manager, or Revenue Cycle Specialist.
  • Background in Health Information Management or medical records administration.
