Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a Level I Trauma teaching hospital position requiring DC licensure and prior Level I trauma experience.

Details
  • Work in the Emergency Department of a Level I Trauma, teaching hospital with 228 staffed beds
  • Patient ratios of 1:4-5
  • Day shift schedule, 4x12 hours from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
  • 13-week assignment length
  • Every other weekend (EOW) and holiday shift requirements
  • No floating between like units required, though floating within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital is possible
  • No on-call requirements
  • No block scheduling accommodations available
  • Uses Cerner Sorian (first generation) charting system
Requirements
  • Active DC RN license required
  • Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience required
  • Level I Trauma Center experience required
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and TNCC
  • PALS certification preferred
  • Cerner charting experience preferred
  • Skills required: IV therapy/phlebotomy, central line care and management, starting and maintaining IVs, cardiac monitoring and emergency response, and interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
  • Triage experience required
  • Two supervisor references required for consideration
Additional Information
  • Provide emergency department nursing care including triage, IV therapy, central line management, and cardiac monitoring in a high-acuity trauma setting
  • Royal blue scrubs required
  • Candidates must have been separated from this facility for at least 1 year if previously employed there
  • First-time travelers are not preferred for this position
