Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Intermediate Care (IMC) night shift position requiring telemetry, vent, and transplant experience at a Level I/II trauma teaching hospital.

Details
  • Work in an academic Level I/II trauma teaching hospital setting
  • Assigned to both an IMC Acute Med/Progressive Care unit and an IMC Thoracic unit
  • Patient population includes telemetry oncology, cardiac, ventilator, and post-transplant cases
  • Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00pm-7:30am
  • Monday through Friday schedule with every other weekend required
  • Some holiday coverage required
  • Floating required as needed
  • Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
  • Active WI RN license or compact RN license required
  • BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA only) required
  • Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty
  • Academic Level I or II trauma center experience or similar size hospital required
  • Trauma Level I and Level II experience required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Telemetry, cardiac, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown, ventilator, and transplant experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Must pass a telemetry competency exam prior to starting, with strict passing criteria for adult and pediatric rhythm identification
Additional Information
  • Provide advanced cardiac and telemetry monitoring, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and use of Rapid Response/Code teams
  • Perform IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and blood product administration
  • Manage ventilated patients, including BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and non-invasive airway management
  • Provide post-transplant patient care
  • Care for oncology, cardiac, and stepdown patients requiring close monitoring
  • Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
  • Parking permit required if parking onsite, though alternative transportation options are available
  • Facility is a Magnet-designated hospital ranked as Wisconsin's #1 hospital
