About the Role

We are seeking dedicated, compassionate Registered Nurses to provide high-quality, in-home overnight support for growing families throughout the Calgary region. This unique role offers the opportunity to support parents and newborns during one of life's most important transitions.

As an RN providing overnight postpartum and newborn care, you will help families rest and recover with confidence, knowing their infant is receiving expert, evidence-based nursing support in the comfort of their home.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care

- Provide professional nursing care for newborns and postpartum parents during overnight shifts.

- Monitor maternal recovery and newborn wellbeing using evidence-based practices.

- Assess and respond appropriately to changing health needs.

Feeding & Lactation Support

- Support breastfeeding, pumping, formula feeding, and combination feeding plans.

- Provide education and encouragement to help families meet their feeding goals.

- Assist with feeding challenges in a supportive and non-judgmental manner.

Safety & Monitoring

- Conduct routine safety assessments and wellness checks for both parent and infant.

- Identify concerns that require further medical attention and provide appropriate guidance.

Parent Education

- Educate families on newborn care, safe sleep practices, postpartum recovery, and infant development.

- Support parents in building confidence and developing practical caregiving skills.

Emotional Support

- Provide a calm, reassuring presence during the postpartum period.

- Support family wellbeing through compassionate care and active listening.

Qualifications

Required

- Current registration and good standing as a Registered Nurse (RN) with the appropriate Alberta nursing regulatory body.

- Current CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

- Ability to travel to client homes throughout Calgary and surrounding communities.

Preferred

- Experience in maternity, labor and delivery, postpartum, neonatal, or pediatric nursing.

- Lactation education or certification is considered an asset.

- Experience working independently in community or home-care settings.

What We Are Looking For

- Strong clinical judgment and assessment skills.

- Ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of patient care and safety.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Professionalism, reliability, and discretion.

- A genuine passion for supporting families during the postpartum journey.

Why Join Our Team?

- Meaningful work that directly impacts the health and wellbeing of families.

- Flexible scheduling opportunities.

- Supportive and collaborative nursing environment.

- Opportunity to provide personalized, relationship-centered care.

- Competitive compensation based on experience and qualifications.
