Job Description: Are you passionate about helping people and looking to further your career in the healthcare industry? If so, we’re looking for you! Our office needs a reliable Medical Assistant who can provide first-class care to our patients. You’ll be responsible for welcoming patients, giving injections and medications, taking health histories other clinical tasks. If you have great communication skills and some experience in the medical field, apply today!
Responsibilities
  • 90 Day Probationary Period: During this time, there is an extensive training where all requirements must be met before moving forward. Must stay within your training guidelines daily up until you are out of the training period. Must pass all vaccine tests/quizzes in order to move forward. You will be held accountable to the Maeville Pediatric guidelines within the handbook. 
  • Patient Care: Collect blood samples, document vital signs, and assist with examinations.
  • Administrative Support: Greet patients, handle calls, administrative tasks, and manage inquiries.
  • Clinical Duties: Prepare exam rooms, sterilize equipment, and perform point-of-care tests (strep throat, COVID, flu, mono, hemoglobin, urine tests), state newborn screens (infant heel prick), injections/vaccination
  • Team Collaboration: Assist healthcare staff with examinations, manage patient intake processes, and ensure clinic efficiency.
  • Customer Service: Greet all patients and families with kindness and positive energy, ensuring a great experience.
  • Operational Support: Travel between clinic locations, manage inventory, and handle daily messages and prescription requests.
  • Clinic Management: Ensure daily opening and closing of the clinic, maintain cleanliness, and adhere to health and safety regulations
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience as a medical assistant or similar role in a healthcare setting
  • Completion of an accredited medical assisting program and supervised externship
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA)
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems
  • Ability to administer medications safely under supervision
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
