Travel RBTs usually work in a variety of locations, such as clients’ homes, schools, clinics, or community centers, depending on the needs of the individuals they serve. The role involves frequent travel within a designated region or even between states, which means flexibility and reliable transportation are important. Travel Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) typically do not earn $2000 a day; their pay is usually hourly or per session. Such earnings are uncommon in entry-level or standard positions and usually involve significant expertise or business ownership.

To thrive as a Travel RBT (Registered Behavior Technician), you need a solid understanding of applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles, a high school diploma or equivalent, and an active RBT certification. Travel RBTs can gain diverse experience by working in different environments and with a variety of clients.

Why do RBTs quit?

RBTs often leave the role due to high emotional and physical demands, low pay, limited advancement opportunities, and challenging client behaviors. Where do RBTs make the most money?

Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) tend to earn higher salaries in regions with a higher cost of living and greater demand for behavioral health services.
