Primary Purpose
The Manager, Travel Industry Sales is responsible for the development and execution of strategic sales and marketing as it pertains to the following segments: Travel Advisor and Consortia. This individual will build and maintain relationships with travel industry clients to ensure established sales and revenue goals are achieved. Primary focus on new business development. The position will assure sales alignment with marketing and communications initiatives on behalf of United Parks & Resorts (PRKS).
Job Responsibilities
  • Travel industry relations. Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external staff, industry partners and travel agencies. Represent the company at various community and/or business meetings to promote the company. Seek optimized positioning of PRKS parks to obtain maximum distribution through travel advisor channels.
  • Drive demand for parks. Leverage assigned agencies to drive awareness and intent to visit, serving as an extension for marketing campaigns. Seek to position our parks for top tier exposure to drive maximum awareness. This includes reasons to visit, such as new attractions and consumer events.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Travel Industry Sales and Vice President of Domestic Reseller Sales and other members of the corporate team to create, implement, and measure the success of marketing co-programs and promotions.
  • Manage PRKS Vacations travel advisor content on VAX VacationAccess, including supplier showcase updates and paid advertising placements
  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with numerous external Travel Agency partners & internal teams with objectives of driving revenue and attendance
  • Increase brand awareness through sales initiatives to include but not limited to trade show participation, sales missions, personal sales calls, sponsorship, events, familiarization tours, site inspections, etc.
  • Be a primary point of contact for travel advisors.
  • Work with travel advisors to implement PRKS-themed branded promotions which are prominent and deliver strong brand-building value to PRKS.
  • Partner with brand team to develop marketing materials for travel advisors including website content, proposals, content marketing, social media, influencers and more.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or a minimum of 3 years of relevant business experience.
  • 3+ years of marketing experience within one of the following industries is required or the equivalent combination of education and experience: e.g. Travel, Theme Parks, Tour Operators, Online Travel Agencies, Airlines, Hotels and/or Car Rental.
  • Outstanding consultative selling abilities and excellent interpersonal skills, with executive level customers and partners.
  • Must be able to work collaboratively with corporate and park teams, and staff to create a results-driven, team-oriented environment.
  • Strong relationship management skills, with proven results generating business growth.
  • Must have exceptional written and verbal communication skills to include presenting to diverse audiences.
  • Must have exceptional organizational and planning skills; ability to meet deadlines.
  • Must have high proficiency using MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint to complete professional presentations.
