Travel - Temporary Assignment | Start 08/24/2026 | 13 weeks | 40 hours per week guaranteed | Shift: 5x8 days | Setting: Short Term Acute Care Hospital
This travel assignment focuses on anatomic pathology support in a hospital laboratory environment, with daytime hours and a 40-hour weekly guarantee.

Responsibilities
- Process a variety of laboratory specimens, including most pathological specimens, through tissue preparation for diagnostic testing, gross examination, dissection of anatomic pathology specimens, and performance of postmortem examinations as assigned.
- Assist with daily pathology operations across histology, surgical pathology, and cytopathology; manage transcription, review daily logs, and monitor department charges.
- Support the pathologist in autopsy procedures when required and provide comprehensive reports on excluded or deceased cases.
- Conduct gross examinations and dictate findings for specimens received from surgical and non-surgical cases; prepare specimens for diagnostic review.
- Aid in histotechnologist activities by preparing tissue and cytology specimens for diagnostic examination.
- Participate in quality improvement and assurance activities to meet CLIA guidelines; maintain an orderly work environment, proper waste disposal, and the rotating and disposal of stains and reagents.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned to support laboratory operations and patient care.
Requirements
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination preferred.
- Experience: At least two years of recent field experience; three years’ technical experience preferred.
- Licenses/Certifications: ASCP certification or equivalent preferred; current BLS certification required.
- Licenses: Current nursing license per the state of assignment.
- General requirement: Ability to work effectively in a hospital laboratory setting and comply with laboratory safety and CLIA guidelines.
