Job description

Description Responds to emergency requests, provides emergency medical care, provides advanced life support (ALS), and transports sick or injured persons to the appropriate medical facility. Administers advanced life support to patients at the scene while complying with federal, state, and local laws. Adheres to all Fire Department policies and procedures.

Examples of Duties Meet and exceed response time guidelines. Operate and drive an ambulance with regard to state and agency safety policies. Respond to emergency calls calmly, efficiently, and promptly in accordance with HFD's policies.

Monitor and respond on communication equipment to maintain contact with the dispatcher and other emergency personnel. Comply with all protocols for treatment and transportation of the sick and injured as defined by HFD, local, and state protocols. Maintain a safe and healthy workplace in accordance with all appropriate OSHA standards, company policies and local standard operating procedures.

Complete patient care forms, insurance forms, evaluation forms, billing forms, and any other forms in a competent and timely fashion. Turn in appropriate documents prior to leaving duty. Communicate with professional medical personnel and treatment facilities to obtain instructions regarding further treatment and/or to arrange the reception of patients to the appropriate center.

Typical Qualifications Current driver's License in good standing. Current National Registry Paramedic Certification (NRP) Current South Carolina Paramedic License. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification (CPR) Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or equivalent preferred.

Supplemental Information Responde a solicitudes de emergencia, proporciona atencion medica de emergencia, ofrece soporte vital avanzado (SVA) y transporta a personas enfermas o heridas a la instalacion medica adecuada. Administra soporte vital avanzado a los pacientes en el lugar mientras cumple con las leyes federales, estatales y locales. Se adhiere a todas las politicas y procedimientos del Departamento de Bomberos.

Cumple y supera las pautas de tiempo de respuesta. Opera y conduce una ambulancia de acuerdo con las politicas de seguridad estatales y de la agencia. Responde a las llamadas de emergencia de manera calmada, eficiente y puntual, de acuerdo con las politicas de HFD.

Monitorea y responde en el equipo de comunicacion para mantener contacto con el despachador y otros personal de emergencia. Cumple con todos los protocolos para el tratamiento y transporte de los enfermos y heridos, segun lo definido por HFD, protocolos locales y estatales. Mantiene un lugar de trabajo seguro y saludable de acuerdo con todos los estandares de OSHA, politicas de la empresa y procedimientos operativos estandar locales.

Completa formularios de atencion al paciente, formularios de seguros, formularios de evaluacion, formularios de facturacion y cualquier otro formulario de manera competente y oportuna. Entrega los documentos apropiados antes de finalizar el turno. Se comunica con personal medico profesional y centros de tratamiento para obtener instrucciones sobre tratamientos adicionales y/o para coordinar la recepcion de pacientes en el centro adecuado.

Licencia de conducir actual en buen estado. Certificacion actual de Paramedico del Registro Nacional (NRP). Licencia actual de Paramedico de Carolina del Sur.

Certificacion actual en Reanimacion Cardiopulmonar (CPR). Soporte Vital Avanzado Cardiaco actual (ACLS). Soporte Vital Avanzado Pediatrico actual (PALS) o equivalente preferido.
