NORTHWEST ALLEN COUNTY SCHOOLS:  Job Description
Position: Transportation Secretary/Router/Dispatcher
Supervisor:  Director of Transportation
Primary Responsibility: School routing, schedule and maintain employee DOT physical exams, monitor phone and two-way radio, manage new student enrollment and address changes, manage vehicle insurance and workers compensation claims.
Specific Duties: 







  1.  Schedule and maintain DOT examination and personnel records for all drivers.
    1. Schedule appointments for new hires, current drivers, and ensure all DOT requirements are current and on file.
    2. Electronically enter driver personnel information in Transfinder.
  2. Monitor two-way radio traffic, assisting drivers with emergencies or other needs during routes.
  3. Answer telephone calls and provide customer service.
  4. Routing
    1. Create and maintain all school bus routing in Transfinder, keeping routes as current and accurate as possible.
    2. Maintain open communication with school administrators and drivers to ensure routes are safe and meet the needs of our students.
    3. Work with school secretaries to initiate/maintain transportation needs of new and current students.
    4. Communicate effectively with parents regarding transportation requests and changes.
  5. Manage OSHA/Workers Compensation claims.
    1. File Workman Comp forms
    2. File vehicle loss reports and work with insurance company on filing claims
    3. File standard school incident forms
  6. Assist drivers with others needs as necessary.
  7. Other duties as assigned.
