Description
SUMMARY
The Logistics Transportation Specialist will be responsible for drayage transportation and inbound shipping. They will supervise raw material shipping operations to successfully execute and control both international forwarders (NVOCC) and container transportation companies. The individual will monitor all raw material shipments from South Korea and China to Hanwha Qcells Georgia Inc., located in Cartersville, and ensure service and cost are met as well as defining and implementing improvement projects during the inbound shipping process.
By supervising the drayage transportation operation, the Logistics Transportation specialist will manage all raw material transportation from import port (Savannah, LA) to the Cartersville plant warehouse. They will source trucking companies and bid for cost reduction while being aware of irregular cost such as demurrage or detention.
This individual will organize, control, and monitor logistics activities of assigned solar panel raw materials such as: Glass, Frame (Aluminum, Steel), Junction Box, Wire/Busbar, Silicone (Sealant, Potting), EVA/EPE/POE Sheet, Back sheet, Flux and Cell, Ingot, Wafer Raw Materials, etc. They will work in a cross-functional team environment within Hanwha Qcells Georgia Inc., Hanwha Qcells USA Inc., and other subsidiaries of Hanwha Group.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage and track in-transit raw material inventory from overseas to factory arrival
  • Track, operate, and monitor raw materials in different transportation modes (truck, rail, sea, air) shipped domestically and internationally
  • Operate and analyze route diversification by considering lead time
  • Process all import transport orders and daily transport plans
  • Create and share shipping reports while also checking for accuracy
  • Monitor and manage raw material procurement and shipment from origin
  • Check and manage vessel space operation for on-time shipment daily
  • Search for reliable LSP and bid frequently to reduce cost
  • Conduct weekly stock counting and promote usage within shell life
  • Prevent irregular costs by constantly monitoring CY free-time (Demurrage/Detention)
  • Create transportation related reports and present to supervisors weekly and monthly
  • Communicate frequently with forwarders and truck carriers
  • Set transportation related KPIs and track performances monthly
  • Frequently communicate with internal stakeholders
  • Support and engage actively with teammates' related work
  • Other duties may be assigned that pertain to the classification.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, SCM, Business Management or related fields
  • 3+ years of related logistics and transportation experience
  • Strong knowledge of logistics, transportation, and customs
  • Ability to travel overseas and domestically
  • Ability to work autonomously in a fast paced, professional, team environment with minimal supervision
  • Ability to prioritize tasks appropriately for project schedules and other deadlines
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Proficiency in Korean and English, both spoken and written
  • Computer literacy with an advanced knowledge in SAP and Microsoft office
  • Understanding in CPIM, CSCP, SCM, and logistics
  • Experience in high-volume and multi-site distribution with a solid understanding of
    FMS, TMS/EPR systems
