The Transportation Manager is responsible for leading and optimizing the end‑to‑end inbound transportation operation supporting the HMGMA production line. This role combines strategic leadership with hands‑on operational oversight, ensuring stable, on‑time, and cost‑efficient transportation performance.

The ideal candidate is a strong operational leader who can manage budgets, contracts, customer relationships, and team performance—while also maintaining deep visibility into daily transportation activities such as dispatch, driver management, and issue resolution.

???? Key Responsibilities

Strategic & Managerial Responsibilities

  • Cost Analysis & Budget Management — Conduct cost analysis, manage annual budgets, and identify cost‑reduction opportunities
  • Data‑Driven Process Improvement — Analyze operational data to improve efficiency and reduce logistics costs
  • Customer & OEM Communication — Serve as the primary contact for OEM customers, ensuring service quality and timely issue resolution
  • Carrier & Contract Management — Negotiate contracts, manage 3PL partners, evaluate performance, and enforce SLAs
  • Business Planning & Forecasting — Develop annual transportation plans, volume forecasts, and capacity strategies
  • Team Leadership & Development — Lead, coach, and evaluate transportation coordinators, dispatchers, and on‑site staff
  • KPI & Performance Management — Track KPIs, prepare executive reports, and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Operational & Manager–Level Responsibilities
  • Local Inbound Delivery Management — Develop and monitor daily/weekly delivery schedules aligned with production plans
  • On‑site Transportation Oversight — Supervise dock, yard, system monitoring, and driver attendance to ensure smooth operations
  • Dispatch & Route Optimization — Oversee dispatch planning, route efficiency, and real‑time adjustments
  • Risk & Issue Management — Respond to delays, shortages, or operational disruptions with immediate countermeasures
  • Cross‑functional Coordination — Work closely with production, quality, procurement, and suppliers to maintain delivery stability
  • Incident Reporting & RCA — Document incidents, analyze root causes, and implement corrective actions
  • New Model & Volume Increase Readiness — Prepare transportation capacity and processes for production ramp‑ups

  • Experience in transportation, logistics, inbound supply, 
  • Strong expertise in cost analysis, budgeting, and transportation financial management
  • Proven experience managing carriers, contracts, and 3PL partners
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage on‑site transportation operations
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and crisis‑response skills

The estimated base salary range for this job is $106,000 - $112,000. The salary range information provided is in accordance with applicable state and local laws regarding salary transparency that are currently in effect and may be implemented in the future. The range represents a good faith estimate of the range that GLOVIS EA reasonably expects to pay for this job at the time of the job posting. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to specific skills or certifications, years of experience, market changes, and required travel.
