Location Description
Michael Foods, Inc. located in Lenox, Iowa and often called the "Pearl of the Prairie" is where you can find small town living, focused on family and friends, with big city amenities not far from reach in Des Moines, Omaha, and Kansas City. Located in southwest Iowa, Taylor county, with a population of around 1400, the Lenox area reaches far beyond the city limits with beautiful and productive fields of corn, beans, and other croplands. Lenox holds an amazing four day Rodeo every July and is home to a beautiful 36-9 hole golf course, several fishing and boating lakes, great area hunting, a beautiful city park with swimming pool, and many picnic parks. The MFI location in Lenox produces primarily pre-cooked egg patties. With its friendly atmosphere, safe environment, and progressive spirit, Lenox is a great place to live, work, play, and raise a family.
Responsibilities
JOB SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for overseeing the operation for all incoming and outgoing inventories and coordinating proper delivery points are completed in a timely manner. This person needs to self-motivated, detail oriented, and knowledgeable on all current state truck driving requirements and regulations; oversee and maintain cost efficiencies and be a team player.
The purpose of the Manager is to supervise the activities of the drivers ensuring all procedures are followed and cleanliness is maintained. The Company, drivers, customers, and consumers benefit from the work of the Manager coordinating delivery appointments to the designated recipients in a timely, effective manner.
This position has the responsibility to comply with Safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation to reinforce Safety as a Core Value. Ensures that all policies, procedures and activities, related to Food Safety & Quality, are followed and complied with uniformly, in an effort to reduce product and process variability.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Oversee all of IA CASA Operations.
  2. Review all driver evaluations and provide feedback as needed.
  3. Enter all IA drivers pay.
  4. Assist HR in driver hiring and dismissals, and issue warnings as needed.
  5. Attend offsite trainings and meetings to stay current on all regulatory changes.
  6. Ensure all CASA and Michael Foods vehicles have renewed registrations, replacement plates, inspection stickers, etc.
  7. Ensure all paperwork is accurate and filed appropriately in a secure location.
  8. Oversee and inspect offsite locations and farmlands to ensure they are clean, secure and properly maintained. (Ex, egg storage facility, truck shop, other various properties, etc.)
  9. Monitor all suppliers and vendors for quality sales at an affordable cost. Find new suppliers and vendors, if needed, to maintain cost efficiencies.
  10. Ensure all IA IFTA stickers, URC, MCS 150 are up to date annually.
  11. Ensure Insurance has an up-to-date vehicle list of cab cards and make sure there is a MCS-90 on file.
  12. Work with JJ Kellers on fuel tax reporting for all CASA locations.
  13. Coordinate and maintain records for all vehicle inspections, random drug tests for drivers are done and complete.
  14. Work with outside egg haulers and independent drivers as needed.
  15. Visits new egg suppliers to ensure tractor trailer accessibility.
  16. Expected to adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP and HACCP guidelines, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained in order to maintain SQF Level 3 certification. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.
  17. Oversee the scheduling and tracking of incoming loads and outbound product delivery appointments.
  18. Maintain effective working relationships with other MFI Locations, Transportation Planning, Customer Service, Processing Departments and Warehousing.
  19. Oversee and assist in communicating appointment times and all other pertinent information to drivers.
  20. Enter applicable information into the SAP system.
  21. Receive phone calls from customers and drivers.
  22. Accountable for a safe and healthy workplace for everyone. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and incorporate safety and health in all jobs and tasks.
  23. Adhere to Quality work practices, follow GMP's, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety and quality.
  24. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
One year certificate from college or technical school or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups, customers/vendors or employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
