Job description

Transportation Engineering Intern - Summer 2027
Location: Regional Michigan Offices
Employment Type: Full-Time Internship
For over 70 years Fishbeck has been building. As a 100% employee-owned firm, every team member has a stake in what we build together-our work, our reputation, and our future. Now we need to add a Transportation Internto help us keep building.
Working with our Transportation team, you will assist in the design of bridges, roads, and other civil projects for the DOT.
What You'll Do
  • Assist in designing roads, bridges, and civil infrastructure for DOT and municipal clients.
  • Create design drawings using AutoCAD and OpenRoads Designer.
  • Support engineers with calculations and technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across offices.
  • Participate in solving real engineering challenges and managing project deliverables.

What We're Looking For
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering program.
  • Eager to learn and contribute to meaningful projects.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD or OpenRoads Designer is a plus.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Previous internship or DOT project experience is helpful but not required.
