Job description

What you'll do

Perform transportation design for roadway, intersection, and corridor improvement projects
Prepare engineering calculations, roadway plans, quantity estimates, technical reports, and construction documents
Lead permitting efforts and coordinate with local and state transportation agencies, including FDOT, GDOT, and other applicable jurisdictions
Develop technical specifications and bid documents for transportation projects
Manage and execute project tasks to meet scope, schedule, and quality goals
Coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal multidisciplinary teams throughout project delivery
Perform construction administration activities including site visits and coordination with contractors
Utilize MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, GEOPAK, and related design software to develop and refine transportation designs

What you bring

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering
Professional Engineer (PE) license
5+ years of experience in transportation engineering and roadway design
Strong experience with MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, GEOPAK, and/or InRoads software applications
Progressive experience in planning, design, and permitting of transportation improvement projects
Strong understanding of roadway geometrics, transportation design standards, and construction plan development
Experience preparing roadway plans, quantity calculations, technical reports, and construction documents
Ability to write technical specifications and bid documents
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with clients
Proven ability to manage multiple assignments and appropriately prioritize workflow
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
Client service-oriented mindset with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
