Job Description

Scope: This role provides leadership across export and transportation products, ensuring teams deliver reliable service, disciplined execution, profitable growth, and scalable branch operations. 

Core Responsibilities: 

Product Leadership and Operating Strategy 

  • Lead the operating strategy for Air Export, Ocean Export, Transcon, and Distribution. 

  • Align product priorities with customer needs, branch goals, compliance, service quality, and profitability. 

  • Drive standard work, escalation discipline, reporting habits, and cross-product coordination. 

Export, Transportation, and Distribution Execution 

  • Oversee export, transportation, and distribution execution, including booking, routing, documentation, pickup and delivery coordination, warehouse flow, milestone visibility, and customer communication. 

  • Ensure customer SOPs, operational controls, safety expectations, security requirements, and service standards are followed consistently. 

  • Manage exceptions, service recovery, capacity needs, and operational risks across assigned products. 

Customer, Financial, and Service Provider Management 

  • Partner with Sales, CRDM, Account Management, T&I, Finance, Product leaders, Facility, Security, and district leadership to support customer onboarding, RFQs, QBRs, service recovery, and retention. 

  • Manage revenue growth, margin performance, billing quality, cost control, local charge discipline, and profitable execution. 

  • Lead carrier, trucking, cartage, distribution, and specialty provider performance. 

People, Systems, and Continuous Improvement 

  • Recruit, train, coach, develop, and retain strong employees and future leaders. 

  • Promote accurate system use, data integrity, dashboard adoption, timely reporting, and exception visibility. 

  • Use customer feedback, employee input, root cause analysis, and operational data to improve service reliability, scalability, and team capability. 

Qualifications

Required 

  • 7+ years of freight forwarding, export operations, transportation, distribution, logistics, warehousing, customer service, or supply chain experience.

  • Leadership experience managing teams, product operations, customer requirements, service providers, financial performance, and cross-functional execution. 

  • Strong understanding of export operations, domestic transportation, distribution execution, customer SOPs, operational controls, and profitability. 

  • Ability to lead multiple products and coordinate priorities across Air Export, Ocean Export, Transcon, and Distribution. 

  • Strong communication, escalation management, customer relationship, problem-solving, and organizational skills. 

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Expeditors operating systems, reporting tools, product applications, and operational dashboards. 

Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of software development principles.
  • Experience with automation platforms such as Power Automate.
  • Experience with Microsoft Copilot and M365 technologies.
  • Familiarity with data structures, APIs, integrations, and system architecture.
  • Basic understanding of AI, machine learning, LLMs, and prompt engineering.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues independently.

Business Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to understand complex operational processes.
  • Experience translating business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. 

Preferred 

  • Prior experience as a Product Manager, Operations Manager, Air Export Manager, Ocean Export Manager, Transcon Manager, Distribution Manager, or Warehouse/Distribution Operations Manager. 

  • Experience with customer implementations, RFQs, QBRs, account reviews, product growth strategies, and service provider management. 

  • Experience managing complex export, transportation, distribution, high-value, healthcare, technology, retail, or time-sensitive customers. 

  • Experience using analytics, dashboards, scorecards, and operational data to lead improvement initiatives. 

  • Experience building leaders, developing succession plans, and managing cross-product teams. 

  • Experience developing automations, applications, or digital solutions.

  • Experience leading cross-functional projects.
  • Experience working in operations, logistics, finance, or enterprise shared services environments.
  • Certifications in Microsoft Power Platform, Azure AI, Microsoft Copilot, or related technologies.

Expected base salary: $70,304.00
