Who you are:

  • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum: High School diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of customer service/hospitality, supervisory, or managerial experience.
  • Effective communicator both verbal and written and understand instructions in English.
  • Competent in navigating the computer to include MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other software products.
  • Highly detail oriented and organized.

General Summary:

This position is a team member of the Community Life Services (CLS) department.  The Transportation Supervisor is responsible for the direct supervision of the transportation drivers, scheduling resident transportation requests, the day-to-day operations of the transportation program, maintenance, safety of the vehicle fleet, and maintaining transportation safety regulations.  This position focuses on providing excellent customer service while making sure the needs of our residents is the top priority.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Hire transportation drivers; includes creating job descriptions, reviewing and interviewing candidates.
  • Supervise the transportation drivers and conduct annual performance reviews, monitor performance, correct issues in timely manner.
  • Establish and lead a positive team environment and resolve conflict
  • Monitor the condition of the vehicles and schedule routine preventive maintenance and repairs.
  • Inspect vehicles and observe safety regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Research and implement the purchase of new vehicles.
  • Be familiar with vehicle operations and available to drive each vehicle when needed.
  • Schedule resident transportation requests for Timber Ridge and Health Center residents.
  • Work closely with the Resident Health Navigation and Briarwood Teams to assess and monitor the abilities of residents to transport safely and properly.
  • Create and implement transportation guidelines and policies.
  • Supervise the transportation logistics for Timber Ridge emergency evacuation
  • During emergencies or natural disasters, may be required to report for duty as assigned by the Director of Community Life Services for the duration of the disaster.Offer excellent customer service to the residents and employees of Timber Ridge and Briarwood.

Other Duties:

  • Reconcile resident billing and credit card receipts for the Accounting Department.
  • Maintain records of mileage and gas purchases.
  • Maintain all tools, equipment, and supplies in proper condition.
  • Attends in-service training and education sessions as assigned.
  • Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Community Life Services.
  • Must be able to offer a courteous, friendly, and helpful attitude with the residents and staff members at all times.
  • May serve on employee committees such as Safety, Employee Engagement, Diversity and Inclusion.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma required.  Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic.
  • Must have a good driving record.
  • Must be able to maintain a courteous, friendly and helpful attitude with the residents at all times.
  • Must be able to interpret and follow map directions. 

Physical Requirements/Working conditions:

Must be also to sit in a vehicle for up to 6 hours per day; must be able to stoop, bend, stretch and squat to load and unload cargo areas.  Must have the ability to perform routine preventive maintenance on vehicles according to schedule.  Keep vehicles clean.  Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds for handling luggage and resident groceries.  May be exposed to the elements (rain, cold, heat) for short periods of time.  Must have good driving skills in handling vehicles on wet and/or slippery roads.
