Join Team AMT! Now hiring for full-time, Patient Transport Technician in Springfield!

Advanced Medical Transport (AMT) is the premier provider of emergency and scheduled ambulance and patient transport services in Central and Western Illinois, as well as parts of Iowa. AMT is a private, not-for-profit organization operated for community benefit.ย 

As a patient transport technician, you will be responsible for ensuring compassionate, safe and efficient transfer between facilities for adult behavioral health patients. You will be part of the Illinois Patient Transfer, or IPT, team supporting hospitals, patients and families across the state.ย 

This role is based in Springfieldย and will work variable shifts/hours during the week and alternating weekends. Please be aware that transports are assigned throughout the scheduled shift hours. It is common for technicians in this role to work well-past their scheduled shift end times.

Job Duties:ย 

  • Supervise patients during transportationย 
  • Provide proper de-escalation and aggression prevention techniques as required
  • Assist facility staff with escorting both the patient and belongings to and from the vehicle
  • Maintain current State of Illinois drivers licenseย 
  • Maintain a professional appearance and attitude at all times
  • Present and promote a positive company image
