Job Description

CSCI Consulting is seeking an experienced SAP Transportation Management (TM) - Event Management Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support complex SAP S/4HANA transportation and logistics transformation initiatives. The selected candidate will serve as a functional expert responsible for the design, configuration, implementation, and sustainment of SAP Transportation Management Event Management capabilities, enabling end-to-end transportation visibility, shipment tracking, milestone monitoring, and exception management across enterprise supply chain operations.

The ideal candidate possesses deep expertise in SAP Transportation Management, transportation execution processes, supply chain operations, and event-driven logistics management. This role partners closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, and project leadership to deliver innovative SAP solutions that enhance operational visibility and transportation performance.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the SAP Transportation Management (TM) and Event Management SME, leading the design, configuration, implementation, and optimization of transportation visibility and event management solutions
  • Configure transportation milestones, event handlers, expected events, status tracking, and exception management processes within SAP S/4HANA
  • Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements, analyze transportation and logistics processes, and translate business needs into scalable SAP solutions
  • Develop functional specifications, process flows, configuration documentation, user stories, and solution designs supporting transportation management capabilities
  • Support integration between SAP TM, related SAP modules, including Extended Warehouse Management (EWM), Global Trade Services (GTS), Materials Management (MM), Sales & Distribution (SD), and Finance/Controlling (FI/CO), and external systems
  • Collaborate with technical teams, external partners, and system owners to support interfaces, integrations, and transportation data exchange requirements
  • Design and maintain transportation visibility, shipment tracking, event monitoring, KPI reporting, and exception management capabilities
  • Analyze transportation performance metrics, shipment status data, and operational trends to identify process improvement and optimization opportunities
  • Lead and support functional testing, integration testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), deployment activities, defect resolution, production support, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Participate in Agile delivery activities, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, demonstrations, and release planning
  • Develop training materials, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and user documentation while providing knowledge transfer and functional guidance to project stakeholders
  • Provide ongoing functional expertise, strategic recommendations, and best practices to support transportation management transformation and operational excellence
Minimum Requirements
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 8+ years of SAP functional consulting experience
  • 5+ years of hands-on SAP Transportation Management (TM) experience
  • Experience implementing and configuring SAP TM Event Management capabilities
  • Experience supporting transportation execution, freight management, shipment tracking, and logistics operations
  • Experience gathering requirements and translating business needs into SAP solutions
  • Experience supporting full system implementation lifecycles, including design, configuration, testing, deployment, and sustainment
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with business stakeholders, technical teams, and executive leadership
  • Creativity and adaptability in problem-solving
