Job Summary:
SEGA of America is looking for an exceptional Transmedia Producer, Emerging Digital Platforms to join its Transmedia Digital Content Team, a group dedicated to extending SEGA's iconic intellectual properties and storytelling across diverse platforms.
In this role, you will support the development, production, and delivery of transmedia projects that expand SEGA's narrative universes through gaming-metaverse, digital entertainment, toys, mobile platforms, social media-based user-generated content platforms, non-traditional digital-native storytelling formats. This may include digital characters, avatars, virtual goods, digital toys, educational gaming platforms, non-gaming digital entertainment platforms, and in-vehicle entertainment.
Your focus will be on the strategic management of creative workflows, budgets, and resources while ensuring the highest standards of narrative consistency, audience engagement, and operational efficiency. This role reports to the VP, Strategy & Creative, Emerging Digital Platforms.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Operational & Workflow Management
  • Manage and execute assigned daily project workflows and submission processes, ensuring team productivity and adherence to timelines.
  • Contribute to process improvements by identifying inefficiencies and maintaining clear, consistent production pipelines across transmedia endeavors.

Project & Resource Management
  • Create, maintain, and track assigned detailed project timelines to ensure adherence to deadlines, milestones, and creative goals.
  • Track budgets and resource allocation to maintain financial accountability while prioritizing project needs effectively.
  • Identify risks and resolve challenges promptly to minimize disruptions, ensuring seamless execution across platforms.

Narrative & Brand Alignment
  • Collaborate with IP owners, writers, and creators to support narrative consistency and authenticity for SEGA's intellectual properties.
  • Maintain and update detailed "Story Bibles" and world-building documentation to ensure consistent lore, character arcs, and creative alignment across media formats including games, animation, and digital platforms.
  • Align creative production with SEGA brand guidelines and long-term transmedia strategies.

Cross-Platform Content Production
  • Manage transmedia content across multiple platforms, including user-generated content platforms, non-traditional digital-native storytelling formats (e.g., digital characters, avatars, virtual goods, digital toys, educational gaming platforms, non-gaming entertainment platforms, and in-vehicle entertainment).
  • Collaborate with internal creative teams and external partners to produce quality content that integrates seamlessly into broader narratives.

Team Coordination & Collaboration
  • Act as the communication point between Strategic Business Units (SBU), Regional offices, IP owners, creative departments, marketing teams, publishers, and external stakeholders to support alignment of project goals across the company.
  • Facilitate cross-functional team collaboration to support the delivery of cohesive transmedia storytelling experiences that resonate with SEGA's global audience.

Stakeholder & Reporting Responsibilities
  • Provide regular updates, KPI reports, and risk assessments to stakeholders, documenting progress, milestones, and identified issues.
  • Ensure internal and external stakeholders are kept informed and aligned regarding production objectives and creative execution.
  • Other responsibilities are performed as assigned or needed.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Working in-office is an essential function of this position. This requirement of face-to-face interaction is in place to ensure effective supervision, collaboration, and teamwork. In-office attendance is required for the following reasons:

  1. Experience
    1. Typically has 3+ years of relevant experience within multi-platform production in entertainment (e.g., digital content, gaming, animation, film/TV, or social media).
    2. Proven track record of delivering transmedia content that aligns with brand guidelines and achieves audience engagement goals.
    3. Experience in IP lifecycle management, including identifying and developing opportunities for narrative expansion across emerging platforms.
  2. Technical Proficiency
    1. Familiarity with production tools and platforms, such as Game Engines (Unreal & Unity) and Content Management software (JIRA, Trello & Miro) used in digital storytelling and cross-platform asset creation.
    2. Knowledge of emerging technologies (e.g., VR & AR) and their application to storytelling and audience engagement.
    3. Experience with incorporating AI functionality into daily organizational task for maximizing efficiency.
  3. Creative & Narrative Expertise
    1. Strong understanding of world-building, character development, and crafting consistent narratives across diverse media formats.
    2. Ability to analyze, "deconstruct," and distribute stories strategically across various transmedia ecosystems.
  4. Project Management
    1. Expertise in handling complex project schedules, overlapping deadlines, and large budgets, with a proven ability to deliver projects on time and within scope.
    2. Exceptional organizational and communication skills to document and maintain workflow efficiency across dynamic and fast-paced environments.
  5. Global Collaboration Skills
    1. Experience working within global entertainment or gaming organizations, with demonstrated ability to manage team coordination across diverse cultures and time zones. Specific focus on working with Japanese companies.
