To thrive as a Translation Editor, you need advanced proficiency in at least two languages, strong attention to detail, and a background in linguistics, translation, or a related field. Familiarity with computer-assisted translation (CAT) tools, style guides, and relevant quality assurance software is often required. Excellent communication, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively are valuable soft skills. These competencies ensure linguistic accuracy, cultural relevance, and consistency in translated content, which are critical for delivering high-quality translations.
A Translation Editor reviews and edits translated content to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency with the original text. They check for grammatical errors, cultural appropriateness, and correct terminology. Their role involves working closely with translators and clients to refine the translation while maintaining the intended meaning. They may also manage glossaries, style guides, and quality assurance processes to enhance translation quality.

Produces, reviews, proofs, and delivers translations of hospital documents such as medical record forms, patient education materials, and marketing materials from English into the target language as assigned by the coordinator.
REQUIRED:
1. High school diploma, equivalent education (GED), or post-secondary education
2. Certification in foreign language translation - from one (1) of the following professional
training programs or certifications (i.e. Rapid Translate, RushTranslate, the American
Translators Association (ATA), or Certified Translation Professional (CTP) OR
Bachelor’s Degree or higher-level degree in Translation or Linguistics.
3. Two (2) years’ experience translating, proofreading, and editing medical materials from
English to the target language in a medical setting, customer service, advocacy, or related
