Interlingva, Inc. is looking for a Spanish Interpreter to work as an independent contractor in San Francisco. The position offers a flexible schedule and ongoing opportunities to provide professional interpreting services primarily in healthcare settings.

Job Description

The interpreter will provide accurate, complete, and clear interpretation in medical, legal, and community settings, meeting the communication needs of medical professionals, patients, government agencies, community organizations, and internal stakeholders. Assignments are based in San Francisco and are available on a regular basis, depending on demand for specific languages and interpreter qualifications.

Qualifications
  • Fluency in both Spanish and English
  • Demonstrated experience providing accurate, complete, and clear interpretation in medical, legal, and community settings, with the highest level of fidelity to the original communication
  • Strong ability to interpret orally between Spanish and English in both directions
  • Proven ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds
  • Skilled in meeting the communication needs of medical professionals, patients, government agencies, community organizations, and internal stakeholders
  • Combination of formal interpreter training and/or relevant professional experience
  • Must be based in San Francisco or the San Francisco Bay Area
  • Willingness to obtain required medical clearances, including vaccination/immunization records and background checks, as necessary
  • Possession of a valid California license
