Project Manager II

Job Description
The Project Manager II will plan and coordinate all aspects and activities of assigned projects without direct managerial supervision. This role will manage and tightly control projects so that they are delivered on-budget, in-scope and on time. It will also organize the teams necessary to lead the project, report results and ensure the project delivers the anticipated results.
  • Follows established company project management (PM) methodology and tools, and manages all aspects of the project, including budget, scope and timeline, from inception to steady state.
  • Ensures team members deliver on assigned tasks and escalates any potential issues which might jeopardize success of the project.
  • Identifies resource and milestone issues amongst all groups and resolves or escalates as appropriate.
  • Documents project progress, outcome and lessons learned.
  • Manages multiple intermediate to large projects with varying complexity to successful results with a minimal level of direction from manager.
  • Identifies continuous improvement opportunities to the PM methodology and project delivery process and recommends resolutions.
  • Effectively communicates project status.
  • Drives the resolution of key project issues.
  • Identifies, manages and mitigates project risk.
  • Effectively closes and transitions projects appropriately.
  • Analyzes elements of projects that have an ambiguous scope and facilitates resolution.
  • Provides basic coaching to others on the company's PM methodology.
  • Creates templates and manuals to facilitate future similar projects.
  • Communicates with application experts to provide requirements and understand application fit or gaps.
  • Supports implementations through understanding of operational concepts and requirements.
  • Participates on and contributes to a change team that has a defined project scope and outcome, and applies existing methodologies to the change process.
  • Demonstrates the capability to obtain and capture relevant information with little supervision.

Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field, or equivalent industry experience required
  • 3-5 years experience in relevant field including project management experience preferred
