What is a transition assistant?

Transition Assistants are professionals who help individuals navigate major life or career changes, such as moving from school to work, switching jobs, or adjusting to new environments. They provide support, guidance, and resources to ensure a smooth transition, often working in educational, corporate, or healthcare settings. Their responsibilities can include coordinating services, offering counseling, and helping clients develop skills needed for their new roles. What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a transition assistant, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Transition Assistant, you need strong organizational abilities, attention to detail, and experience in administrative support, often supported by a high school diploma or associate degree. These skills ensure smooth transitions, minimize disruptions, and provide essential support during critical life or career adjustments.

  • Compensation: $30-$35/hour
About the Role
We are looking for a sharp, detail-oriented, and proactive Part-Time Executive Assistant to support a member of our leadership team. This role is ideal for a student looking for flexible, part-time hours (10-20 hours/week) while handling high-impact tasks.
You will work closely with an executive to streamline daily operations, organize critical information, and assist with foundational research and project preparation. The ideal candidate is resourceful, highly organized, and possesses exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Key Responsibilities

  • Document & Binder Creation: Organize, design, and assemble physical and digital binders, handbooks, and reference materials for meetings, presentations, and onboarding.
  • Research & Data Gathering: Conduct preliminary research on industry trends, competitors, vendors, or specific projects, and synthesize findings into concise, actionable summaries.
  • Administrative Organization: Help maintain digital file structures (Google Drive, SharePoint, etc.), manage schedules, and assist with general correspondence or ad-hoc office tasks as needed.
  • Google to Microsoft Transition: Assist in auditing, cataloging, and restructuring digital assets (migrating Google Drive/Docs/Sheets to OneDrive/SharePoint/Office apps). Leverage Microsoft Copilot and other AI productivity tools to help design new organizational systems, streamline email management in Outlook, and optimize document templates in Word and Excel.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Experience: Previous experience in an administrative, office support, or academic research role is a plus, but motivated candidates with strong organizational skills are welcome to apply.
  • Tech-Savvy: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and/or Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides). Familiarity with AI tools or research databases is a bonus.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous eye for formatting, proofreading, and organization.
  • Time Management: Ability to balance multiple tasks independently and meet deadlines reliably within a 10-20 hour weekly timeframe.
  • Discretion: High level of integrity and professionalism when handling confidential information.
Why Join Us?
  • Flexibility: Set your own rhythm with predictable part-time hours that fit around your schedule.
  • Professional Growth: Gain direct mentorship and hands-on experience working alongside senior leadership.
  • Meaningful Work: Contribute directly to high-level projects rather than just routine paperwork.
