Bus Driver Job Fair Event MONDAY, 2/23 at 4104 Poole Rd. from 10-2 Sign-On Bonus $2500.00
Essential Functions/Process Responsibilities include the following: other duties may be assigned as necessary:
    • Drive transit buses safely on prescribed routes as directed. Conduct pre and post-trip vehicle inspections and document on appropriate forms.
    • Collects/records bus fares and transfers by GoRaleigh Transit procedures.
    • Promote exemplary customer service of GoRaleigh by providing safe, courteous, and dependable service while driving customers.
    • Input information into computer-based equipment such as Automated Vehicle Locator (AVL), Automatic Passenger Counter (APC), fare-box, and destination displays (requires touch key entering) as technology exists.
    • Able to read and interpret maps and complex schedules and provide route and schedule information to transit customers.
    • Assist in the boarding of disabled customers who require the aid of accessible vehicles (wheelchairs/scooters) for mobility. Involves bending, stooping, and twisting while securing belts and straps to ensure the patron and car are tied down in a manner that provides a safe ride (Ability to push-pull wheelchair patrons).
    • Operate a two-way bus radio system by the GoRaleigh established policies and procedures and the Federal Communication Commission (FCC).
    • Announce major streets, stops, and destinations per ADA regulations.
    • Adhere to the uniform application of the Labor Agreement, Performance Code, Safety Procedures, and Operational Bulletins.
    • Requires prolonged sitting while driving/operating transit bus. Includes reaching above head to adjust mirrors and destination signs during pre-trip inspections.
