Your impact:
  • Project Leadership: Lead and manage rail/transit projects from pre-construction, construction, & post-construction, and commissioning phases.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, and regulatory authorities, to ensure project goals are met.
  • Scope Management: Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables, and ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement and oversee quality control processes to ensure the highest standards of workmanship in all aspects of the project.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project delays and cost overruns.
  • Budget and Cost Control: Monitor project budgets, control expenses, and track project costs to ensure financial objectives are met.
  • Schedule Management: Develop and maintain project schedules, monitor progress, and adjust as necessary to meet project milestones.
  • Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and standards to maintain a safe working environment for all project personnel.
  • Reporting: Provide regular project status reports to senior management and clients.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Provides technical direction and guidance to staff and subordinate engineers/inspectors, enforces company and project policies, maintains close client interface, and ensures all facets of the project are constructed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule
  • Supervises field staff, coordinates field activities, and provides project progress reports to the client and Lochner CEI Office Manager
  • Prepares and manages quality and safety plans for the project
  • Work with the CEI Office Manager on development and execution of significant project pursuits and delivery
  • Assist the CEI Office Manager to formulate and execute project opportunity capture strategies, including teaming and positioning for major pursuits, helping in proposal efforts and identification of required staff resources to win and effectively deliver projects
  • Establish relationships with external clients and customers, including industry associations and other potential consultant team members and construction contractors
  • Be a visible leader and trusted advisor to clients by promoting Lochner's values both internally and externally

Who you are:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field
  • Professional Engineers (PE) license required
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus
  • Proven experience (10+ years) of resident engineering experience managing rail/transit construction projects
  • Strong understanding of stations, facilities, rail systems, including communications, train control, OCS, traction power, and electrical design
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Commitment to safety and quality
  • Valid Driver's License required
