Job description

Sr Transformer Electrical Engineer
Role Summary
The Senior Transformer Engineer is responsible for the design, engineering, validation, and technical leadership of 69kV-220kV transformers systems. This role provides subject-matter expertise across the full product lifecycle-from concept and specification through manufacturing, testing, installation support, and commissioning-while ensuring compliance with applicable standards, customer requirements, and safety regulations.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and trial production of 69kV-220kV transformers, adhering to IEEE standards. Independently complete order calculations and submit production drawings.
  • Participate in sample production, conducting comprehensive tests to verify performance and technical specifications. Address any issues encountered during the trial production process.
  • Execute design tasks with precision and timeliness. Implement design optimizations and technical enhancements to reduce costs and increase efficiency.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering and Automation, preferred. Other engineering disciplines will be considered. Minimum of 10 years of experience in transformer design, with the ability to independently manage projects.
  • Thorough understanding of transformer structure, extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes and workflows. Proficient in CAD software, capable of independently producing detailed drawings.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a strong sense of responsibility. Excellent communication skills and a collaborative team spirit.

Standards & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with relevant international and regional standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE, ANSI, UL, NFPA, NEC, CSA).
  • Support product certification, type testing, routine testing, and factory acceptance testing (FAT).
  • Maintain awareness of evolving industry standards, codes, and best practices.

Manufacturing & Quality
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, supply chain, and quality teams to ensure manufacturability and cost-effective designs.
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality, reliability, or field issues.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to design efficiency, standardization, and product robustness.
