Compensation
At S&C, we provide competitive and equitable compensation for all our team members, and we are committed to transparency in our pay practices. The estimated annual base salary range for this position is $67,200-$83,950. Individual pay within this salary range is determined by several compensable factors, including performance, knowledge, job-related skills and experience, and relevant education or training. This role is also eligible for S&C's annual incentive plan (AIP), subject to eligibility criteria.
Join Our Team as a Sales Support Engineer!
Are you passionate about Sales Engineering? As part of the Sales Operations organization, the Sales Support team members are the primary liaison between the outside sales force and production operations for all S&C's Feeder Automation products.
The Sales Support Engineer primary responsibilities include reviewing system applications with customers, outside sales, application engineering, and design engineering to collaboratively develop effective solutions using S&C products and services. Responsibilities also include developing custom pricing, issuing quotations, creation of sales orders, and general oversight of the orders throughout the design and production cycle.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide pre-sales technical support to customers and the outside sales team, including reviewing customer specifications and assisting in formulating the commercial strategy to best address customer needs.
  • Act as a source of product knowledge for customers leveraging a comprehensive understanding of S&C's offerings and customization capabilities to tailor solutions to specific application requirements.
  • Prepare key customer deliverables, including price estimates, quotations, and sales orders in collaboration with the outside sales team and other departments at S&C.
  • Act as a key point of contact for customers, outside sales, and inside sales, responding to application, technical, and commercial queries with timely responses, escalating and connecting with other experts S&C when needed.
  • Participate in customer visits, including plant tours, acceptance testing, and associated functions. Offer application expertise and answer questions, using information gathered from visits to ensure application proposals are accurate and correctly address the needs of the customer.
  • Participate in process improvement activities, acting as a knowledge source and recommending solutions to improve processes in accordance with LPS principles.
  • Understand and comply with all applicable Company policies and rules.

What you'll Need To Succeed:
  • 0-3 years of demonstrated experience directly supporting the application of medium-or low-voltage switchgear, with direct customer interaction.
  • Basic understanding of electromechanical products, mechanical concepts, and communications equipment/protocols.
  • Ability to initiate engaging discussions with senior members of the group to identify project specific needs and articulate how S&C's solutions address those issues.
  • Skilled in conveying key concepts effectively and addressing objections collaboratively with supporting team members.
  • Solid communication skills, (written, verbal, listening and presentation), able to articulate basic technical concepts clearly and concisely to a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Sound organizational, planning and project management skills, coordinating internal and external resources and juggling key account demands
  • Rounded interpersonal skills to establish meaningful relationships and foster collaborative working relationships amongst diverse audiences
  • Self-motivated with the demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, including the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Basic financial acumen and numerical ability with the ability to understand the details of sales proposals.
  • Proficient computer skills, including experience using Oracle and Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Good working knowledge of CRM and other sales-related software, including Salesforce.com.
  • The ability to travel as required.

Education & Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
