Summary
Delta Star Inc. is seeking a reliable, safety-minded Transformer Assembly Post Vapor Phase - Level 1 (Nights) team member to support transformer element builds under direct supervision. If you're eager to learn safe crane and equipment operations, foundational assembly practices, and proper documentation-while supporting quality and on-time delivery-we want to hear from you!
What You'll Do
You'll assist higher-level assemblers with transformer assembly tasks, follow safety and quality standards, and help with material prep, staging, and movement to keep work flowing. You'll develop foundational skills in crane rigging, blueprint reading, and documentation.
A Day in the Life
Expect a hands-on day supporting assembly activities: moving materials, preparing elements, assisting with pull-down systems and ovens/vapor phase, and using hand/power tools correctly. You'll maintain a clean, organized area, complete documentation (DIRs), and learn to read blueprints and operate equipment safely.
Specific Duties
  • Operate overhead crane with supervision: set up pendant, rig spreader bars, and complete pre-operation inspection.
  • Assist with loading/unloading ovens and vapor phase equipment.
  • Learn to read and work from blueprints under guidance.
  • Assist with element assembly tasks under a higher-level assembler.
  • Assist with pull-down system operation.
  • Select and attach leads (as applicable); cut cable to length.
  • Apply insulation wraps on leads and assist building all types of lead structures.
  • Assist with kitting parts and basic inventory control.
  • Help prep the element and support tanking activities.
  • Assist with crane scale operation.
  • Operate man lifts and forklifts without supervision (maintain certifications as required).
  • Use assembly equipment, hand/power tools, and PPE correctly.
  • Inspect own work and work of equal/lower levels with some assistance.
  • Complete all required DIRs accurately and on time.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to pass background check, drug test, and physical.
  • Ability to operate an overhead crane (or obtain/maintain certification) and read/learn to read blueprints.

  • Understanding of safety requirements and PPE usage.
