Job Description 

 The Avionics Technician is responsible for building, inspecting, and maintaining complex electrical and avionics systems that enable aerospace vehicles and payloads to function reliably. This role involves hands-on electronics assembly, system troubleshooting, inspections, and close collaboration with engineering teams to support development, integration, and launch operations. 

Role Responsibilities 
  • Responsible for building and inspecting complex electrical systems that allow the craft to function.  

  • Assemble and install electrical components while maintaining detailed and accurate written documentation. 

  • Maintain and improve existing avionics systems through modifications, upgrades, and bug fixes. 

  • Support engineers with instrument development, troubleshooting, testing, and project execution. 

  • Provide technical support for payload integration activities and launch operations as needed. 

  • Perform inspections on work completed by other technicians using documented procedures, specifications, drawings, and engineering instructions. 

  • Follow standard manufacturing and quality processes, including engineering evaluation/change requests and use of standard manufacturing data systems. 

  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and workmanship standards throughout all phases of work. 

Qualifications 
  •  3-5 years as an Avionics Technician, or related, experience; technician experience on aerospace vehicles is strongly preferred. 

  • Associate [2-year] degree in electronics, or related field is required, or equivalent training obtained through military service.  

  • Demonstrated ability to independently perform electronics assembly tasks, wire harnessing, including soldering, crimping, coating, and circuit testing   

  • Proficiency in soldering techniques, including solder cups, surface-mount PDBs, and wire splicing. 

  • Familiarity with IPC standards is a plus. 

  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary environment. 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interaction with engineers, technicians, and other stakeholders.
