SYSTEM JOB TITLE:ย  ย  ย  ย ย  ย Adjunct Faculty

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports to the Ed.D. in Transformational Leadership Program Directorย ย ย ย ย ย ย

POSITION SUMMARY:ย Moravian University invites applications for part-time adjunct teaching positions in the Ed.D. in Transformational Leadership program. This program prepares scholar-practitioners to lead human-centered transformation in educational systems and beyond. Grounded in a learner-centered paradigm, the program integrates a Theory of Action rooted in four compass points-Objector, Inventor, Curator, and Storyteller-and a Theory of Transformation drawn from Govindarajan's Three Box Solution.

Adjunct faculty in this program are not simply content deliverers. They are co-designers, thought partners, and models of the very transformation the program seeks to cultivate. Learn more about the program at moravian.edu/edd.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Co-design and facilitate inquiry-driven learning experiences aligned with the program's Pillars and Principles, including its learner-centered philosophy, Theory of Action, and Theory of Transformation.
  • Collaborate actively with program faculty and the Program Director to ensure coherence, connection, and continuity across program elements-bringing a genuine co-designer mindset, not simply an instructor role.
  • Engage in ongoing inquiry into the program's design and impact, using research and reflection to continuously iterate and evolve the program over time.
  • Design and facilitate learning experiences that honor the full Human School Compass-supporting scholar-practitioners in being curious Objectors, generative Inventors, evidence-grounded Curators, and courageous Storytellers.
  • Integrate authentic, practice-embedded approaches to learning that bridge theoretical frameworks with lived leadership experience.
  • Assess scholar-practitioner learning through competency-based, human-centered methods that prioritize growth, reflection, and impact over compliance.
  • Support scholar-practitioners in developing program artifacts, including the Digital Idea Garden, Leadership Manifesto, Impact Portfolio, and Dissertation of Practice.
  • Communicate regularly and professionally with scholar-practitioners, program faculty, and the Program Director.
  • Contribute to a psychologically safe, inclusive learning community that honors the diverse identities, experiences, and leadership contexts of each scholar-practitioner.
  • Engage with and model the program's AI Manifesto-using artificial intelligence as a tool to provoke and deepen human thinking, not replace it.
  • Maintain accurate records of scholar-practitioner progress and provide timely, constructive, forward-facing feedback.ย

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Doctorate in Education, Educational Leadership, or a closely related field required.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with the Pillars and Principles of the Ed.D. in Transformational Leadership program, including its learner-centered philosophy, Human School Compass, and Three Box Solution framework (moravian.edu/edd).
  • Commitment to human-centered, equity-focused educational leadership and a belief that transforming systems begins with transforming self.
  • Experience facilitating adult learning in higher education or professional learning environments; doctoral or graduate-level experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated capacity and genuine disposition to co-design curriculum and learning experiences with other faculty and with scholar-practitioners.
  • Ability to bridge theoretical frameworks with practical, practice-embedded application in complex, real-world leadership contexts.
  • Experience with or commitment to integrating AI tools thoughtfully into teaching and learning.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills that support honest, generative collaboration.
  • Commitment to inclusive excellence and demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse adult learners.
  • Active engagement in educational leadership, scholarship, or practice within PK-12, higher education, or organizational learning contexts preferred.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • Candidates should be comfortable using digital tools for documentation, communication, and learning design (e.g., Google Suite, digital portfolio platforms, video conferencing, AI).
  • Adjunct faculty in this program are expected to engage as co-designers of learning, not solely as instructors. A collaborative mindset and willingness to iterate are essential.

TO APPLY:ย Qualified candidates should submit a cover letter, current resume or CV, evidence of effective teaching, a 1-2 page statement of teaching philosophy, and two (2) reference letters through the Moravian University employment portal by clicking "Apply Now." All documents should be uploaded as PDFs.

Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the positions are filled.
