Job description

What The Role Is
The Senior Associate, Procurement is responsible for supporting the procurement team at Clearway Energy Group in facilitating strategic vendor relationships and securing the equipment needed to advance Clearway's multi-gigawatt project pipeline. The successful candidate will demonstrate knowledge of solar, high voltage (HV), and grid infrastructure technology and the renewable energy industry. This position will support procurement strategies that ensure the timely delivery of quality owner-furnished high-voltage and other solar equipment to projects and provide administrative and stakeholder coordination support to the procurement team.
This hybrid position will report to the Senior Manager, Procurement (Solar & HV) and can be based in Houston, TX; Denver, CO; or Scottsdale, AZ, offices.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Support the procurement team in transactions and internal reporting for owner-furnished high-voltage (transformer and breaker) and other solar equipment in close coordination with development, construction, and operations business units
  • Manage supply and demand planning, scheduling, and supply chain activities for Clearway's HV scope of supply
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to execute sourcing solutions for multi-technology projects
  • Support competitive RFx bidding, negotiations, and contracting efforts in coordination with internal stakeholders and OEMs
  • Provide document support and input on supply and service agreements with vendors and stakeholders to ensure efficient closure of negotiations and stakeholder review
  • Take ownership of and negotiate key exhibits to relevant contracts and ensure stakeholder review and engagement
  • Facilitate the procure-to-pay process for owner-furnished HV equipment, including vendor qualification and onboarding, vendor selection, contract negotiations, internal approvals, issuance of purchase orders, invoice management, logistics, warehousing, and quality assurance
  • Document current and future pricing guidance of solar and grid infrastructure technologies, including mitigations to key policy risks, and work with internal SMEs to generate forward-looking technology and cost projections and develop sourcing strategies.
  • Support technology assessments and reviews of existing and upcoming product platforms, and effectively communicate the opportunities and risks associated with each technology
  • Assist internal project and engineering teams with coordinating RFIs to equipment manufacturers
  • Assist with the project financing process, facilitating inputs from OEMs and interdisciplinary teams to independent engineering (IE) questions
  • Provide key inputs to cashflow models in support of the organization's liquidity optimization
  • Support internal updates and reporting of organizational and procurement progress and status
What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in business, management, supply chain, engineering/technical degree, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain
  • 3+ years of energy industry experience
  • Familiarity with commercial negotiations and contracting
  • Effective project management, negotiation, contract management, and verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to travel up to 15%
  • Proficient in Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), OneNote, and document control

The pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location, skills, relevant and demonstrated experience, education, training and certifications, and other factors permitted by law. This role is eligible to earn an annual cash bonus, subject to personal and company performance goals.
