Job description

About the Role:

The Transfers role supports warehouse operations by preparing, organizing, and loading materials for transfer between branch locations. This position is responsible for pulling orders, staging products, palletizing shipments, and loading trucks to ensure materials are transported accurately and efficiently. The role also helps maintain organized inventory, supports safe material handling using warehouse equipment, and contributes to a clean and efficient warehouse environment while maintaining a high level of customer service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a high level of customer service is always provided
  • Read transfer orders to determine items to be pulled, gathered, and staged
  • Palletize product neatly and wrap pallets to prepare for transport
  • Pack cartons to prepare for transport
  • Transfer materials from storage or work sites to the designated area by hand or using a hand truck, electric dolly, or forklift
  • Load product onto semi-trucks using a forklift
  • Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence, such as size, type, or product code using a radio frequency gun (RF gun)
  • Determine the location for retrieval of items using a radio frequency gun (RF gun)
  • Maintain and compile records as required including the record of inventory
  • Assemble transfers from stock and place on pallets or shelves
  • May assist in maintaining a clean/orderly warehouse and yard
  • Perform other various duties, as outlined by supervisor
  • Exude, understand, and demonstrate actions according to the Company’s core values. These core values are courage, commitment, collaboration, compassion, ownership, and optimism

Qualifications and Physical Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Willingness to participate in pre-employment and random drug screenings
  • 6+ months related experience
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to safely drive a forklift
  • Ability to work in excessively hot and cold conditions due to outside environment of the warehouse
