Job Summary:
Netpace Inc is seeking a Senior ETL Engineer to design and develop complex transformation and data loading techniques for processing large volumes of data. The role involves collaborating with data analysts and scientists to ensure high-quality data and optimal use across the business.
Responsibilities:
• Datastage is the current ETL tool for the team
• Interfaces with key Technical Managers, Developers, and Build Experts in order to understand the technology requested and the business complexities as they relate to IT requirements
• Determine and implement the most efficient and cost effective solution.
• Support and uphold Architecture/Design standards.
• Design, develop and deliver / implement data solutions to include: architecture design, proof of concept, development of standards, design and development of test plans, code and module design, development and testing, data solution debugging, design and implementation of a solution that follows efficient design techniques.
• Design and engineer across multiple platform types. Example – DB2, UDB, SQL Server, Oracle, Teradata, Snowflake, BI Tools, ETL, CDC and application servers.
• Accountable for components of the overall Data management and engineering, Data Integration, Information system including software installation, configuration and administration and performance evaluation and enhancements.
• Engineer physical design of data, sub systems, data integration and overall solution of each domain.
• Test and debug Software including SQLs and infrastructure components.
• Develop and execute scripting as a way to improve or enhance systems or subsystem operational efficiency.
• Keep abreast of hardware and software developments, including theory and technique.
• Assure quality, security and compliance requirement are met for supported area and oversees updating and testing of the business continuation plan.
• Modify, install and prepare technical documentation for system software applications.
• Diagnose, isolate and de-bug software problems and performs problem resolution.
• Create documentation and user support guides.
• Uphold and support documentation standards, procedures and approval hierarchies.
• Lead self and provides technical leadership on projects.
• Foster teamwork and manage multiple delivery work streams.
• Identify and provide guidance to less experienced team members and/or resolve highly complex production problems.
Qualifications:
Required:
• 4-year degree (Computer Science, Information Systems or relational functional field) and/or equivalent combination of education or work experience. Advanced degree preferred.
• 7+ years experience in specific Domain, System and Infrastructures, sub systems and application integration.
• 5+ years acting as a lead Engineer for major systems and their subsystems for complex computer applications and/or application initiatives.
• Strong understanding of each Domain: data integration, systems programming, and information.
• Understanding of industry leading solutions and technologies in the applicable domain.
• Strong knowledge of Information, Data Services, several high level and query languages.
• Strong understanding of company's Information, application systems and its relationships.
• Strong analytical ability, judgment and problem analysis techniques.
• Strong organizational and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail.
• Strong ability to understand client expectations and to resolve issues that may affect delivery.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a matrixed organization.
• Strong ability to mentor, coach and train engineers.
• Ability to work with teams that are geographically distributed and work across different time zones.
• Self-starter, with a demonstrated ability to learn beyond formal training with a strong aptitude for delivering quality products.
• One or more of the globally accepted certifications and credentials in the applicable technology domain.
